Broadband Solutions highlights importance of autonomy and innovation in schools

4 June 2015: Broadband Solutions, one of Australia’s most reliable and fast growing education sector Internet service providers, met with teachers and IT managers from across Australia yesterday to discuss the importance of innovation in education. Leading a panel discussion at the 2015 EduTECH National Congress and Expo, Broadband Solutions examined the challenges faced by schools and offered insights into the wide range of solutions available.

“Schools across Australia are ready and willing to deploy a multitude of innovative technologies that will aid in the development of their students, however they are too often held back by limited bandwidth availability,” said Sam Bashiry, Managing Director of Broadband Solutions.

“It’s a mistake to believe that the only solution is to wait for the government to update their networks and technologies. Innovative schools have the ability to take control of the situation and future proof their school now by installing flexible technologies, such as secondary Internet links with bandwidth on demand.”

The panel praised state government moves to give more power to principles, stating that the trend would ultimately improve the quality of innovation in schools.

“Individual schools are best positioned to understand the needs of their students and should be able to make decisions about which technologies and providers are most suited to address those needs. The discussion here today has once again established that a one size fits all approach does not work when it comes to developing a prosperous learning environment,” said Mr. Bashiry.

The conference continues today with delegates attending practical Masterclasses lead by world-renowned keynote speakers.
